Terms & Conditions – Cooking Workshops

Cancellation and Payments

Cancellations are non-refundable. All bookings are confirmed on receipt of full payment and if a seat is available. Cash, Credit card (including Amex) and Direct deposit payment methods are all accepted. Please note that a 1.75% + 30c surcharge is added to Invoice total.

Reservations
  • Reservations may be transferred to other classes with a 30-day notice.
  • If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to send someone else in your place.
  • Reservations for classes and events close 30 minutes before the start time.
Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities of attendee

All classes and events require closed-in shoes. Please adhere to all the instructions given to you during the induction process. Aprons, pens, ingredients and all utensils are provided. There is no need for you to bring anything.
Health and Hygiene Responsibilities of attendee
For public health and safety reasons, if you have been diagnosed as having or carrying a food-borne illness, i.e. gastroenteritis or Hepatitis A, we respectfully request that you refrain from attending cooking classes. Send someone else in your place or talk to us for an alternative arrangement.
Monsoon Harvest reserves the right to alter or cancel a class. Every effort is made to contact and accommodate guests in the event of alterations or cancellations. If a class is cancelled or moved to a date and/or time you are unavailable, you are entitled to a full refund.
Please inform staff of any dietary requirements, food allergies and intolerances while making your booking. We will attempt to accommodate you to the best of our abilities. Please contact us on 1300 100 131 or for further information.

Photography

We may take photographs during the classes and used for marketing and promotional purposes. Photos of those under 18 can only be used with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you have any issues with having images of yourself being used for these purposes, please talk to your instructor or contact us. You are welcome to bring a camera; however, filming is not permitted. We request that you use discretion and consider other participants’ privacy if taking photographs.
As a matter of privacy, the booking information provided to us will not be given to a third party without your consent or unless legally required. If the specified box is checked, you will receive a newsletter and other exclusive communications regarding our products and services. By completing a booking form, you agree to be contacted via email and/or phone in regards to your booking.

Terms & Conditions – Food Tours

MONSOON HARVEST is applying to be a member of the AFTA Accreditation Scheme (ATAS). As such all monies received from you will be placed into a Client account until dispersed to the suppliers of your travel arrangements.

MONSOON HARVEST as an agent for its suppliers of travel product

Where MONSOON HARVEST acts as an agent on behalf of travel suppliers including airlines, accommodation providers, cruise lines, rental car companies, wholesalers and other travel suppliers it is governed by the Terms and Conditions of those suppliers. While every effort is made to ensure that travel products are delivered as promoted MONSOON HARVEST does not guarantee that this will happen as MONSOON HARVEST is simply a reseller of these products.

Offers

All offers and promotions of services sold through MONSOON HARVEST are subject to availability, and all advertised promotions apply solely to new bookings. Offers can be withdrawn at any time and without notice.

MONSOON HARVEST as the supplier of tours

Where MONSOON HARVEST offer group tours where the itinerary for the group tour has been created by them, then MONSOON HARVEST are responsible for the delivery of that tour as described. Note that MONSOON HARVEST does retain the right to vary any itinerary prior to or during the running of a tour due to circumstances outside of MONSOON HARVEST’s control.

Deposits and Payments

At the time of booking, MONSOON HARVEST will require a $150 per person non-refundable deposit on top of the deposits required by suppliers for international bookings and $100 per person for Domestic bookings. This is to cover MONSOON HARVEST for their time in the event you decide not to go ahead with the booking. Note that this extra deposit is part of the overall quote for your travel and not an additional amount.

At the time of booking, MONSOON HARVEST will also outline the schedule of payments due to secure and finalise your booking. Failure to pay the deposits to suppliers by the due date may result in your booking being cancelled – suppliers often do this automatically, so it is not something MONSOON HARVEST can stop. While MONSOON HARVEST can rebook the itinerary for you, please note that the original dates requested may not still be available and that the price may have changed.

Failure to meet final payment deadlines can also lead to cancellation of your booking, and any refund of the deposit monies you may have paid will be subject to the supplier’s Terms and Conditions.

Once you have paid any money towards a booking, it is deemed that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.

Card payments will incur extra fees – 2% for Amex or Diners and 1.25% for Visa or MasterCard.

If a supplier fails to provide the product purchased your remedy lies against the supplier and not against MONSOON HARVEST.

International travel arrangements are generally paid to the supplier in their local or nominated currency. Where prices are quoted to you in Australian Dollars, then these are based on the exchange rate on the but note that there can be fluctuations in the final price due based on movements in the foreign exchange rates. The quoted price in Australian Dollars will be honoured where you have paid the full amount at the time of receiving the quote. Suppliers can also impose extra charges prior to your making the final payment, and MONSOON HARVEST is not liable if such changes occur. Rates quoted are correct at the time of booking and are subject to change with or without notice.

MONSOON HARVEST is registered for GST, and this tax applies to all domestic travel booked as part of your itinerary.

Confirmations and Documentation

Once you have booked your travel itinerary MONSOON HARVEST will send you a written confirmation but note that bookings are not deemed to be finalised until all monies have been paid. Travel suppliers will not issue final documentation until they have received full payment for their part of your itinerary. Also, note that each supplier will have its own terms on deposits and final payments and their own overall Terms and Conditions which govern their part of your itinerary.

On receipt of your travel documents, you must check that they correctly reflect the booking you made so that any amendments can be made in good time and avoid any disruption to your travels. Equally, you must provide passenger names exactly as they appear in your passports – a cruise line or airline may refuse you boarding if the name on your booking is different from the one in your passport. Also, be aware of any changes to your circumstances – such as having a new baby that needs to be registered on your passport or to have their own passport.

All passengers departing Australia must have a valid passport with a minimum of 6 month’s validity beyond your return date to Australia. MONSOON HARVEST requires a copy of your passport prior to making final bookings, and you must advise us if you are travelling on a non-Australian passport as this can affect your visa requirements to visit the countries in your itinerary and can also affect your right to return to Australia.

Please check your itinerary carefully before booking, as any changes to an itinerary will incur a fee of $60 per person by MONSOON HARVEST for their time to make these changes plus the supplier may also charge change fees. These will be advised before any change is made. Where the change is as a result of the travel supplier’s actions you may be able to cancel or rebook without penalty but note that cruise lines and airlines both reserve the right to vary their schedules, so your rights to cancel and/or rebook are subject to the supplier’s Terms and Conditions. Equally, in the event, you need to cancel a booking then any refunds due to you will be subject to the supplier’s terms and conditions.

Cancellation

Cancellation of Your Travel Arrangements by You must be notified to us in writing, and will take effect the day we receive it. The following Penalties will apply dependent upon the number of days before Your Travel Arrangements commence.

* Between 31 and 60 days – forfeit of deposit
* Between 24 and 30 days – 25% of total ground arrangement cost
* Less than 24 days – no refund of total ground arrangement cost

Commercial air flight and airfare cancellation charges will be incurred by you in accordance with Airline Tariff Regulations and will vary according to the type of airfare utilized.

Our cancellation provisions also hereby override any conflicting cancellation provisions set out by any individual operators or suppliers used by us. No refund is available to you for cancellations after commencement of Your Travel Arrangements or on any services not used for any reason.

Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

With effect from 1st January 2012, all Holiday or Business travellers to Sri Lanka must have Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for entering into Sri Lanka. Please visit www.eta.gov.lk for more information. Payments are to be made through the arrangement made in website http://www.eta.gov.lk/ and obtain an acknowledgement of ETA application. No third parties are authorised to collect payment or issue visas.

Any costs associated with not having correct documentation is solely your responsibility.

Health and Safety and Insurance

Check with your Doctor about any requirements for vaccinations.

Check with DFAT via their www.smarttraveller.gov.au site for any travel advisories that may impact your itinerary

NB – Please ensure that if you do not buy the offered Travel Insurance from MONSOON HARVEST, then you have your own comprehensive travel insurance organised. This insurance should cover all aspects of the travel purchased as well as providing medical coverage while overseas including repatriation to Australia.

Liability

MONSOON HARVEST cannot accept any responsibility for any act, omission or default (negligent or otherwise) of any travel service provider in connection with your holiday over whom MONSOON HARVEST has no direct or exclusive control, and we shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage including consequential damage arising out of or connected to your travel booking. We act as an agent for travel suppliers and have no responsibility for the provision of those services nor do we warrant regarding the standard of the services to be provided. Your recourse is against the specific travel provider and not against MONSOON HARVEST.

Breakages, losses or damage

You will be responsible for any breakages, losses or damage caused by you or a member of your party during your stay in the accommodation. It is your responsibility to put right the damage or to make full payment to the supplier before departure and to indemnify us against any losses, damages or claims made against us.

Behaviour

You are responsible for compliance with all relevant regulations governing carriage by air or any other mode of transport and your stay during your holiday. If in the opinion of our suppliers and/or service providers your behaviour is disruptive or causing distress, injury or danger to other clients, our staff or any other third party, your holiday may be terminated and we shall not be responsible for any costs or claims that are incurred.

Privacy

MONSOON HARVEST respects your privacy, and all details collected about you will be used solely for the travel being booked and for the purposes of obtaining feedback from you or for advising you of special offers from time to time. If you do not wish to receive such notifications, advise MONSOON HARVEST. For more information on our Privacy Policy refer to our website.

Schedule of Fees
  • MONSOON HARVEST will collect a non-refundable deposit per person in addition to any deposits required by the travel providers. This will be $150 per person for International travel and $100 per person for domestic travel. Note this deposit is not an addition to the quoted cost of your itinerary.
  • Credit card service fees will be charged – 2% for Amex/Diners and 1.5% for Visa/MasterCard
  • Booking fees may be charged as determined by MONSOON HARVEST, and these will be advised before you proceed with a booking.
  • Amendments to bookings will attract a charge of $60 per person per change.
  • Arranging Visas has a fee of $75 per visa in addition to any fees charged by the relevant consulate or embassy and any costs for postage or couriers to deliver the documentation.
  • No cash refunds will be given
  • Cheque payments will not be accepted.
  • Where MONSOON HARVEST has to provide documentation to support an insurance claim and the insurance was not bought through MONSOON HARVEST then a $100 fee will apply.
